Label stock & ribbon matching

Labels and ribbons have to match the printer and the material. Getting the pairing right avoids smudged, scraped or unreadable labels.

Label material first

The label surface decides the ribbon. Thermal label stock is printed by heat; coated label stock (e.g. coated paper, synthetic) needs a ribbon. Tell us the material and your printer model.

Choosing the ribbon

Wax ribbons suit coated paper at low cost; resin or mixed wax-resin ribbons give more durability for synthetic labels, chemicals or harsh handling. We confirm the match against your printer and the label material.

  • Wax: coated paper, everyday shipping labels.
  • Mixed wax-resin: a balance of cost and durability.
  • Resin: synthetic labels, chemical/outdoor use, higher durability.

What to send us

Send the label size, rows/per roll, core diameter, material and printer model, plus the ribbon width × length and coating side if you know it. If not, send the printer and the application and we will confirm the pairing.
